Bursa

Bursa, known as Pruse in antiquity, and later known in French as Brousse, is a city in northwestern Anatolia in Turkey, the capital of the province of the same name. With a population of 1,562,828 in 2007, Bursa is the fourth largest city in the country. Under Ottoman rule, the city was the production hub of royal silk manufacturers. In addition to local production, natural silk was imported from Iran.
